Popular Nigerian footballer Victor Boniface has taken a moment to reflect on his journey from humble beginnings to making his debut in the prestigious UEFA Champions League.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward shared his inspiring story on Thursday, September 19, via his Twitter page.
Boniface revealed how, as a young boy, he used to pay just 30 naira to watch Champions League matches at a football viewing center in 232 Army Barrack, Akure.
Now, having played his first Champions League game, he expressed pride in how far he has come. “From paying 30 naira to watch Champions League football for the night back then, to playing my first Champions League game. Proud of this moment,” he tweeted.
The 23-year-old has made a name for himself with his speed, strength, and goal-scoring ability.
After notable performances in Norway and Belgium, Boniface joined German side Bayer Leverkusen in 2023.
He continues to rise as a key talent for both his club and the Nigerian national team.
