Veteran Nollywood producer and actress, Georgina Ibeh, has voiced her frustrations over the growing sense of entitlement among some upcoming actors.
In a candid social media post, Ibeh, who has been in the industry for over two decades, criticized an unnamed actress for questioning the cast members of a movie before agreeing to work on it.
“I have been trying to ignore this for a while now, but it is getting too much,” Ibeh wrote. “How can I call you for a movie, pay you, and you are asking questions like, ‘who and who is going to be in the movie’?”
Ibeh, reflecting on the struggles of earlier generations, emphasized that rising actors and actresses once had to audition for their roles, a process that earned them their place in films.
She expressed disbelief at the growing trend of up-and-coming talent expecting to know the details of the cast before committing to a project, despite having limited recognition in the industry.
She continued, “See Upcoming Actors And Pride O!.. how will I be the one to pay you and you’re asking me who else is going to be in the movie. Back in the day, our legends used to go for auditions and earn their role. But now, someone who is not even known in the industry is giving us terms and conditions.”
Ibeh made it clear that she would not tolerate such behavior, warning, “Let this be the first and last time any of you will ever try that with me! Me and my money?!”
