The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has announced that the party will apply its successful election strategies from the Edo State governorship election in the upcoming November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, also revealed that the party plans to use the same template to secure victory in Anambra State, which is currently controlled by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as well as in other southeastern states in future elections.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday during a gathering with members of the Edo State election situation room to celebrate the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo, Ganduje emphasized that the APC, as a major political force, should have a stronger presence in the South East.
He urged party leaders across various levels to intensify their efforts to achieve this goal.
“We have started working to develop strategies to win these states. Next year, Anambra state will follow. Let me remind you that we have a project which we named political demarginalisation of South East geo-political zone. That project is also a task that must be done,” Ganduje said.
He further emphasized that while the APC already controls two states in the South East, the party aims to expand its influence across the region, describing the current figure as “too small for a big party like ours.”
The APC chairman’s remarks come as the party seeks to strengthen its grip on key regions ahead of the upcoming elections, especially in areas traditionally controlled by opposition parties.
