Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has once again captured public attention after responding to a viral video of his father, Alhaji Muniru Balogun, walking in the rain in Lagos.
In the video, Alhaji Muniru Balogun, dressed in traditional white attire and a red cap, can be seen walking with a cane.
The clip quickly gained traction on social media, with some users drawing comparisons between the lifestyle of Wizkid’s father and that of fellow musician Davido’s father, billionaire Adedeji Adeleke.
A particular post on X (formerly Twitter) parodied the financial situation of Wizkid’s family, suggesting the singer’s father might be struggling.
In response, Wizkid quickly set the record straight, revealing that his father was merely walking to his Toyota SUV after a visit to their old neighborhood.
Wizkid responded, saying, “U see his SUV in front right?!! he actually likes going back to our old hood to take walks! See the old people and bless them with something small. That’s the kind of man that raised me!”
