University of Jos Professor with the Department of Medical Microbiology, Grace Ayanbimpe and her husband who were abducted by unknown gunmen who stormed their residence behind Haske Quarters, Lamingo in Jos North Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Monday, May 17, has been rescued by the Security agents in Plateau state.
According to information gathered by Becksblog.com.ng, that Mrs Grace Ayanbimpe and her husband were rescued unhurt.
However, it was learnt that the gunmen had initially made contact with the family shortly after their abduction and demanded N15 million ransom.
At the time of filing this report, it was not certain if any ransom was paid, but a family source confirmed their release.
The source said, “Yes, the couple have been released by their abductors last night unhurt.
“But they have not returned to their house because they have been taken to the hospital for examination. But we thank God for everything.”
Also, Ubah Ogaba who is the spokesman of Plateau Police Command, also confirmed their released and he said;
“With the concerted effort of the Police Tactical team Plateau State Command, hunters and vigilantes, the kidnapped victims – Prof Grace Ayanbimpe and her husband Mr Isaac Ayanbimpe – were released unhurt”.
